Globe Wireless Completes 500th Globe iFusion Installation

Globe Wireless, a leading provider of communications, operational and IT solutions to the maritime industry, today announces the 500th Globe iFusion installation.
In September 2010, Globe Wireless released and started installing Globe iFusion, making Globe Wireless the only Inmarsat Distribution Partner that is also a type approved FleetBroadband equipment manufacturer. Within a few months Globe iFusion was named the Inmarsat 2010 Maritime Solution of the Year.
Globe iFusion is a single box that incorporates an Inmarsat FleetBroadband 250, a dual firewall, highly optimized IP connections, Internet browsing capabilities and multiple least cost satellite gateways. Globe iFusion gives crew members prepaid access to voice and SMS messages from mobile phones as well as Email from shipboard computers. Globe iFusion, via Globe iPortal, also offers full shore side control of the solution, including the administration of user profiles, browsing capabilities, firewall settings, satellite gateways and least cost routing.
Globe iFusion provides superior Digital Quality Voice, caller ID (incoming and outgoing), free onboard mobile to mobile calls, and is the first FleetBroadband terminal to support multiple voice lines. In addition, the Globe iFusion can be used with VSAT and Iridium OpenPort terminals.
